Something happened today and Fridge Brilliance dawned me (actually it's more like Fridge Horror but anyway) so I'm dedicating a whole post to this... thing.
I doubt anyone remembers the review I wrote about the shittiest novel I read that is required in schools. I'm disgusted by that book honestly. Why did I suddenly remember about this shitty book?
I have a shitty event/project today where me and my groupmates run around looking for stuff (explorace, kinna). While walking around a shopping complex looking for a specific shop, I saw this banner that raises more than a few questions in me. It literally says 'vagina tightening'. I'm too horrified to notice if it's a service or a consumable product (I think it's the latter), but at first I wasn't sure about its meaning and I asked a Malay classmate. She outright told me it's vagina tightening.
Yeah I'm scarred for life.
She saw me cringe and said "Hey, it's a part of life! Women have to do this once in a while after marriage, if not your husband might go out to find other women." SAY WHAT.
I disagree. But what can I do? They think that the sole purpose of marriage is sex. Nothing I say can change their way of thinking. I have heard people spit even more horrifying things before so this is meh~ but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Going back to the novel. I was only half joking when I wrote this:

Figa is Italian for vagina. Ehhh so apparently Intan Maliana isn't kinky enough and doesn't have a tight enough vagina (laughs).
But seriously I read somewhere that vaginas don't get loose. It's a muscle for fucks sake!!! So if a penis person leaves a vagina person because said vagina isn't tight enough... just no. That's bullshit.
This is, once again, a review based on a lets play of ToR. Rebirth was never localized but it is infamous for its shouting meme. And what a shouting meme it was...
I know I haven't been really active these past months... my last decent post was December last year and wow was that long ago!
I'm trying my best to juggle school work and extra-curricular activities so that I can graduate safely. No, life is not in the equation. I don't have a life.
Besides the crippling realization that I'm getting older every subsequent year and thus moving farther and farther away from being a child plus all the responsibilities I have to face as an adult, I'm actually fine. By fine I meant internally screaming every hour or just generally crying about not having a PS4. Yep.
What happened in the past months:
The semester is almost over (lmao) and it feels like I haven't leaned or studied anything at all, due to massive workload in the form of a whole week of events, including reports and assignments AND roleplay and model assignments, industrial visits (I enjoyed it), going out trying to convince people to come to our events, blah blah, the usual.
I got to listen to great music though. I bought my first ever album from Florence + the Machine; jammed to Tales Orchestra, 20th anni version and 2016 version; Nier Automata came out and I got into Nier's awesome music by Okabe; Hiroyuki Sawano is now one of my faves alongside with Yuki Kajiura and Yoko Kanno; Sheryl will be revived for Macross 30th; surprisingly I was addicted to Tales openings, to the point that hearing them makes me sad. I found out that Tenmon was the composer for most of Shinkai's movies. Gosh that guy has mad composing skillz.
Bought a few PS4 games, was worried that some might be faulty, that's why I want a PS4 so badly. I got most of the games I wanted already, but I'm sill waiting for HD collections of FF Type0, AC3 Liberation and KH 2.5 remix. P5 and Tales of Berseria can wait, since they're quite recent, and Nier Automata was not in my list to begin with. Heck I didn't even play the original Nier! Also I can't believe I bought the newest Star Ocean. I don't know what got into me. Might be because I'm starting to get bored with the same four JRPG series. I'm excited to play Zestiria even though people are talking shit about it. I made some progress in Mass Effect 3, I don't have a clear playthrough cause I'm just mashing through the dialogue at this point. My shooter skills still suck.
Didn't buy any books since last time. Still have many books waiting to be read. I hope 2 weeks is enough to finish a quarter of them. My artist instincts still impulse buy notebooks and stationery, but I'm saving up for cons and a PS4.
I'm having fun playing global and JPN FFRK. It's going to develop into a bad habit I assure you.
Ok I didn't exactly play the game, but I'm thinking of getting the PS3 version even if it's in Japanese. Have to figure out where to get it though. So. In order to fully appreciate and enjoy the soundtrack of Tales of Vesperia I watched TalesOfCreed's let's play on YouTube and man was it great! I spent every waking moment for 5 days watching all 123 episodes worth of story and battles. I'm tired, my body is tired but my mind? My mind never stops thinking. Also for once I didn't spoil myself by skipping videos.
In this review I will only comment about the story aspect of the game, because like I said I don't have the game.
SnA was never in my watchlist to begin with. I stumbled upon a gif on tumblr and haha what do you know I'm really interested in what this anime was about. The captions for the gifset implies something bromance-y and me fujoshi heart is like 'maybe this is good'. It was only 12 episodes but I was lazy to binge watch it so I went online for spoilers... and it totally ruined the mood for me. Turns out there's a complex love triangle going on and I hate that very much. I put off the whole thing until the first day of my finals after the paper... I finished the whole thing to unwind.
I already have this movie in my watch list for a long time now. I just keep putting off watching the thing cuz YOI and DIU are more important. In the end I played myself because I didn't have time to watch anything... until recently. All my reports are finished, events are over, finals are near, but hey what's the fun of finals if you don't procrastinate?
I do realise one is not like the others and YOI deserves a whole post dedicated to itself, but everyone already knows whats happening so.
MOANA
This recent Disney addition is nice to anticipate. Before this though I watched Gaijin Goombah's cultural video abour OverWatch's Roadhog and his Maui inspired skin. I do know Maui is a demigod who fished islands using his fishhook but apparently he is also a bratty and arrogant person?? Did I know that?
Life is being corrupted due to Maui's stealing of the Heart of Te Fiti. Since the ocean chose Moana, she has to find Maui and deliver the heart to him so that he could return it to its place. Many creatures want the heart for its power, but the most dangerous of them all is Te Ka, a monster of Lava. It obstructs the very entrance to Te Fiti, and when Moana finally reach the top of the mountain, hoping to find Te Fiti lying there... she isn't. She is gone. Moana realises Te Ka IS Te Fiti, just maybe a little corrupted. She returns the heart to Te Fiti, life is restored, Maui gets a new fishhook, Moana's people get to be wayfinders again!
20 minutes into the movie and I'm already crying. JFC. Also I'm disappointed that it's the chicken that gets more screen time. I thought Pua the pig is the animal sidekick. The songs are great, especially the ones sung in native language.
ROGUE ONE
I was not that excited to watch this one until I found out that Mads Mikkelsen (who is in Kojima's Death Stranding) is cast and I'm like??? Sign me up??? Rogue One addresses the events that lead to A New Hope in Star Wars. I never stopped to ask where the Death Star blueprints come from but oh well. This movie is going to explain it all!
Jyn Erso is the daughter of Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), an Imperial scientist working on the Death Star. He has placed a flaw in the weapon, but in order to pinpoint the location of the flaw blueprints would be needed. He sends an Imperial pilot with his message to Saw Gerrera, a war veteran, in hopes he will stop the weapon for him. Meanwhile Jyn is freed by the Rebel Alliance from Empire prison, but for a reason: they were informed about a weapon of mass destruction built by her father. If she helps them find him they will grant her freedom. She agrees.
At Saw's place Jyn and Saw watch the hologram message left by Galen before the place goes to ruin. They find Galen at his research facility where Rebels come and shoot the place up, killing imperial architects and soldiers, including Galen. Jyn tells the Alliance about the flaw and blueprints but most of the council is like 'meh u want us to believe an imperial scientist no way'. Since the Alliance can't do nothing without a majority vote, Jyn takes matters on her own hands and goes to get the blueprints herself. Accompanied by companions and some rogue rebels, Jyn locates the blueprint and transmits it to the Alliance battleship, knowing full well that she and her comrades won't make it out alive. And they did not.
The blueprint is then given to a princess all of us are familiar with. Roll credits!!!
Rogue One is a great movie. Darth Vader is in there and he chokes a person how awesome can it get? There is also a brief mention of Obi Wan in the Rebel Alliance by Bail Organa. Miss Dragon says her dad thinks its bad but??? How is it bad? You have all the references, Darth Vader appears and has dialogue??? Princess Leia appears at the end???
Also I don't expect myself to cry in Rogue One even though everyone dies. Tears started flowing at the end when I recognized Princess Leia and she turned around and I was like "WHHHAAAAAAAA" and sobbing. Feelings man, they are complicated.
YURI ON ICE
If you think I have pretty screenshots of this anime: no I don't. I can find some GIFs tho but no thanks. YOI tells the story of Japanese figure skater surname Katsuki given name Yuuri and his career as well as his relationship with his idol, 5-time champion Russian figure skater god Victor Nikiforov.
YOI at first glance, when it was announced looked like your typical fanservice sports anime. As much as I enjoy Free!, the show was embarrassing to watch. The first few episodes were really fanservice-y. Victor showing his ass, Victor flashing everything in the onsen, Victor being too close for comfort with Yuuri... I cursed myself for watching even though I know it's fanservice, but Kubo-sensei proved all of us wrong because...
It's not fanservice. It's gay. Yeah it's gay. So gay that it almost broke the internet. The build up is slow and unexpected because I didn't think it was real. That they kissed. After that it's official they are most definitely lovers. Only then we see the subtle signs and the way the characters talk episodes before: how Yuuri views Victor from literal god to equals in a span of a few episodes, how he doesn't mind all the physical contact... and his theme for that years' GPF: love. Some people are still in denial about their relationship but Kubo-sensei shut them up by giving us marriage proposals, more PDA, engagement rings, more PDA, and best yet, a prologue as to why Victor would want to coach Yuuri 'all of a sudden', plus Yuuri pole dancing in his underwear and drunk grinding on Victor. Basically it's Victor falling head over heels for Yuuri after a dance.

I bought the early bird tickets in Kinokuniya this time 'round, and a week after that bad news came: major project for my compulsory PEC subjects falls on the 17th. At least till noon anyway. It made me anxious for the whole duration before the project. I am so so tired.
The event ended at 1:20pm and I rushed so that mom can fetch me to the nearest train station to board the 1:45pm train. I got on, it was about 40 minutes journey, reached there, 10 minutes walk and when I finally reached there... I was lost. I got to the ticket counter and cannot find where to go next. Apparently they didn't utilize the venue, instead everything is in a nearby sports court. WTF. I spent 10 minutes looking for the entrance and another 20 minutes searching for the artist booths lmao. THIS YEARS VENUE IS SHIT.
My shopping theme for this year is 'zines/fanbooks/illustration books' because I'm broke and if I were to buy anything it would be books>charms>badges.
DAY 1
I only spent ~40 minutes in the artist booth because damn I need to get back home soon. I have projects to work on!
I've always loved kiDChan's works. I was her fan since 2008 I guess?? I was a wee child then! But since I did not have any social media until I was legal I didn't know she had?? Illustration books???? I'm so shook! Last year I spent the most (RM 80) on Meyo's booth for her daisuga charms and fan zines but last year aint got nothin on this year: a total RM127 spent on a booth!
Got these haram stickers. And the only cat keychain left... Since I was late anything YOI related is sold out so I gotta settle with Voltron in Ceni's booth.
I missed the HQ! charms during the last convention, so it's nice to be able to get one of my OTP (iwaoi, but since it's a promo of 2 so I gotta get a kuroken one). Yue and Aiko aint got nothin I want (they be sellin prints, Aiko got some badges but I have enough of those), so I got KH charms. Why not?

While walking out of PWTC I saw these two cosplayers as Noct and Luna and??? I'm so emotional? I stopped at my tracks, contemplating if I should go and ask for a picture but shy and anxious me didn't. So. I'm so dumb. Now I'm sad.
DAY 2
I spent all of my month's allowance on day 1. All of them. What to do??? As I was moping around near the ATM machine I flipped through my cards and... hey is... is that my BSN card??? I still have RM200+ inside??? HELL YES!
I never thought I'd be saved by national service allowance lmao.

This years CF was a pretty uneventful one for me since the venue is shit, Reika and Baozi&Hana are here but the queue is long as shit, photo books all sold out. I promised myself to get pictures of cosplayers but I only managed to get one (A LUCA COSPLAYER OMG HOW MANY PPL EVEN KNOW AR TONELICO), and it's not even in CF, it's outside!
Anyways my new years resolution for conventions is to 1, take pictures of cosplayers; 2, spend less in small conventions; 3, buy more books; 4, stop being dumb.
Let's hope the next year will be a more delightful one.
