Finals are over and I don't have remedial so praise!!!! It's been a rough 3 days with all my papers coming one after the other, but the last day is really the last day of the whole of finals week so everybody is free!
At first I was like 'yay! time to play video games!' then I remembered about all the spring cleaning I have to do which include rearranging furniture, cleaning bookshelves, updating the harem blog, completing some overdue art pieces, and then only do I get to play video games or read books or hang out with my friends. I had to go visit grandma in a small town so some time is wasted there...
I had to clear out the bookshelves and decide which books to abandon, then I emptied one of the lower shelves to put my jeans drawer, and then I have to put some indicators on which books I've yet to finish... it took me 4 days to clean the bookshelves plus my wardrobe and work table! I had to arrange the books by category, relocate my sketchbooks, I brought in the TV from the living room onto my second work table to use as a monitor and consoles are now below said table so I could game in my room (which is awesome but not so great because... overheating). Then one of my HDMI cables broke...
Video games! I managed to finish the main story of Ni no Kuni and get the casino trophies thanks to forums, familiarity at one point away, and I defeated the Guardian of Worlds, so now my only tasks are to tame another 45 species, get every field map treasure chest and complete 120 items. Alchemy is the one I'm really worried about because nobody likes farming for materials. After this I can play replay FF13 and work on the platinum. Or, I could actually play TLOU because it's way overdue and the game is 6 years old!
A few days ago I participated in a Kingdom Hearts friendship zine with a piece from last April. It's a great zine with artwork, cosplays and writing, and yall should check it out!
The Steven Universe finale special just aired a few hours ago... OH BOI!!!!!! This episode is just fanservice from start to finish! The new fusions, the gems' new outfits, the appearance of the temple fusion aka OBSIDIAN, the dread when WD pulls the gem out of Steven... and he lives! HE LIVES! The amped up animation was so fluid when Steven embraces himself - literally and figuratively - and the moral of the story is: NO ONE IS PERFECT AND YOU ARE WORTH LOVING NO MATTER WHAT. Steven has grown so much. He's not a boy, he's not a gem. He's Steven, and that's all he needs to be.
Following SU's finale-not-finale, it's time for FANART! So apart from my current projects which include another 10 knights, daily sketches and more fanart! Now that I have a new workstation setup, it's time to try it out and see if it holds up. I mean the bigger screen is a huuuuge plus, but now I don't have any space to rest my wrists and arms my shoulders and neck will be tense and in pain once I stop
I did some reading during the last week, the first being The Nanny Diaries, which is good, but too annoying. I couldn't stand Mrs. X's character so I had to stop halfway. I didn't finish it. The Great Gatsby was... not impressive. I have no idea why people thought it was a great piece of literature. It has a certain 'feel' to it, that I have to admit. Is it because of this feel that everyone thinks it's great? It gives me the impression that the story is one of irony. The Hobbit is the best one I've read in two days. Something about Tolkien's works makes you wanna relive everything. No wonder people have LoTR film marathons every year! Reading this prequel is making me want to read the whole of LoTR again and I'm not prepared to do so.
And then there's CNY... Everybody's busy during the week and I will have plenty of time to play video games and draw and read but which of these do I wanna do... which...
